Sugar and Baking soda

Sugar persuades cockroaches to eat it and baking soda will make sure the cockroaches don’t survive. You can simply mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of sugar in a small size bowl. Then scatter it along the pathway where cockroaches walk pass and leave it for 1-2 days. Place it underneath kick plates, behind electrical outlets, around plumbing pipes, and other dark places. You may need to do that again until you fully get rid of cockroaches in your house.

Baking Soda 

Boric Acid

Mix boric acid with sugar or flour and placed it on small squares of paper to make cleanup and changing easier. You can increase the boric acid and sprinkle water on the mix if it's too dry. You may need to change the mix once a week until cockroaches are all gone.

Although the boric acid isn't toxic to people or pets, it can be irritating so do not place it where animals can access.

Biological Control

Some common high-footed spiders (not netted, non-toxic) will feed on a variety of insects including cockroaches and other insects. As long as you catch one at home, it will automatically catch cockroaches for food. When all cockroaches are eaten, it will leave your house to other environments for food.

Spider Eat Cockroach

It is safe (without pharmacy), effective (spiders will be very hard to grab for survival), convenient (just grab a spider back), cheap (if you can catch spiders, it is free). The only problem is some people are afraid of spiders.

Besides spiders, cats sometimes catch cockroaches, but they are not used to eat, but play as toys. Geckos also eat cockroach larvae.

Biochemical Bait

Leave it there for one night and you may see a bottle full of cockroaches in the morning.

You can also use adhesive-based traps to catch cockroaches. These traps work like glue. Cockroaches will be attracted to them by smell and get stuck when they step on it. In this way, you will feel a sense of accomplishment but it does not affect the nest and cockroaches will appear again.

How to Prevent a Cockroach Infestation

Clean your house often and keep your trash can close. Try not to leave any food including pets food outside. These are some general tips for preventing cockroaches. However, this is almost impossible, because they can eat almost anything including clothes, books, etc.

German Roaches will come in from outside sometimes regardless of how clean your house is, so you should also eliminate areas pests can enter and hide as best as you can. For instance, behind cabinets, inside kitchen appliances, where water pipes enter and exit, etcetera. There are also other ways you may consider to prevent cockroaches.

Boric Acid Mopping

Soak a mop or rag in the mixture of boric acid and hot water. Then use it to wipe the floor. When it dries out, the boric acid will penetrate into the floor gap to get rid of ants and cockroaches.

Natural Plants

It is reported a mixture of cucumber skin, laurel or chrysanthemum petals and alcohol can kill newly hatched cockroaches. Scatter the mixture every week in the place where cockroaches often go. 

Orange and Lemon Peel
